Matariki Part 1 (:

So this week my group will be reading an article about Matariki. Matariki is a celebration that Maori's celebrate every year. Matariki does not have a certain day to celebrate on instead the date changes every year. How about I talk about a couple of things that I know about Matariki!

- I know that there are at least 7 stars that are sisters. There is also a star named Matariki, the mother of those 7 sisters.

- And all of those 7/8 stars have a different job to do every year.

I hope I gave you a simple understanding introduction of my reading. Keep checking my blog for part 2 of my reading, Matariki! (:

This is a nice introduction to our Matariki mini-unit! I look forward to reading your posts for the rest of the week. Do you have any guesses why we are learning about Matariki this week?
