NYLD! (:

On Wednesday the 29th, I went with a group of students to the National Young Leaders Day! It was fun and very exciting to go to! My favourite highlight was at the end when Vince Harder got to sing one of his songs including his new one, Sugar Coated. My favourite speaker there was a man called Sala because, he was talking about going through the tough times in life and how it all got better. He talked about one person who believed in him and how they never gave up on him. It was his teacher. I can totally relate to what he went through and I hope people will to. One of the key messages I took away from that experience was that we all need to respect the environment because, you don't know what could happen if New-Zealand was covered with rubbish. Our rubbish. This is why we should always put our rubbish in the bin and keep our environment clean! Anyways, it was a fun time going there and here are some pictures of us going to the NYLD!

10 Things I Would Bring On Mars! - Reading (:

Today I am talking about what are the 10 things I would bring on Mars. First we had to create a Piktochart and use it as our presentation. Then we had to use Screencastify to explain why we chose those 10 things. Here is my Screencastify that I have done and I really hope you enjoy it! (:

What I Need In A Emergence Kit!

Today, I have created a picktochart of what I need in an emergency kit. Sometimes we never know when an emergency could happen so its very smart to be prepared in case of any emergencies. I learned so much and I cannot wait for you all to learn this to!

Explanation Writing - Rainbow (:

This a piece of writing I did and it is explaining how a RAINBOW is originally formed. I learned so many things about rainbows and I can't wait for you to learn them as well. I really hope you enjoy this explanation writing and please comment what you think I should've done better! (:

How Is A RAINBOW Formed?

Start this off with the Sun and the Rain. First, let’s imagine the raindrops are like
thousands of tiny prisms falling from the sky. When, the sunlight shines through
the raindrops, the reflection from the light becomes 7 different colours. Which is
obviously Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. The light from the
sun has to be very bright or you’ll only see a fading rainbow. Finally, that is when
you see a full RAINBOW!

Facts!

- A rainbow is actually a full circle, but since we see it down below and not up
in the sky it becomes a semi circle instead.
- A rainbow can also be seen in mist and in fog.
- All the 7 colours from the rainbow is also called a Vibgyor.
- The light from the sun, breaks into several beams of light.

Musical Research!

How is a pantomime, different to a play or a musical?

Well in a musical or a play, you would see the actors talking or acting out a story. But when it comes to a Pantomime, you can tell that the actors communicate with the audience so well that it makes it more fun to watch or continue on the Pantomime.

Here is an example of a Pantomime - Cinderella

What does slapstick means?

Basically it means some kind of comedy piece that is based on embarrassing and clumsy events.

It is very different to a play because, a play is like everything is sharp and perfect. But when it comes to a slapstick, you do a lot of funny and hilarious acts so it can give the audience a laugh or a giggle.

The Mysterious Moa?

For Reading this week, my group has been reading the book 'Richard Owen's GIANT Mystery'. It is about professor Richard Owen, trying to solve a mystery of a mysterious bone that was found in New-Zealand, and belonged to a humongous bird. After researching about the bone, they finally realised that the bone belonged to a bird named the Moa. This story is very interesting and I challenge you to read it! Anyway, I had to create a google drawing of a Moa without using google images. Then, we had to add 4 facts about the Moa and put it somewhere in our google drawing. I hope you enjoy this DLO I have created and learned something new today! (:
