EOTC: Top Team

EOTC means Education Outside The Classroom. Unfortunately I only did 1 event which is Top Team. Top Team is when you are in a team and you do challenges to get points, to win because you also have to compete other teams. For me It was amazing and I got wet, my favourite challenge was the Ski Racing challenge because my team was working together. My team got 80 points but I was still happy of how much my team did. The Lie Poem

Earthquake News

Hey, on November the 14th 2016, there was a massive earthquake in Christchurch.
The earthquake happened for 2 minutes but, I slept through it so I didn't feel it.
Kaikoura had a damaged road and fields were damaged too.

I did not take this photo the person that took this photo was Joe Morgan.

After that magnitude 7.5 earthquake you should know that it didn't happened just in Christchurch it spread more.



When a earthquake happens just remember these 3 steps:

I'm happy to say that I'm okay and no one in Hornby Primary School, was injured by the earthquake.
But some people were killed when the earthquake happened.

My Persuasive Writing Techniques.

This term I have been doing persuasive writing, and I did dragon fruit cause its one of my favorite food.

Here is my techniques

Hook:

Do you know that the dragon fruit grows from a flower called pitaya? Yes, have you ever heard of a fruit that grows from a flower? Wow! It’s such an interesting fruit to learn about. It has vitamin C which means it can help kids with their health. Maybe some day you will find a dragon fruit and eat it and, if you eat it you will be like holy guacamoly! I love dragon fruit and that's why I picked it to make you interested in it. So read through these reasons why I like dragon fruit.

Arguments:

Dragon fruit is so yummy in my tummy, it’s slimy and wobbly in my mouth like jelly but sweeter. It taste so much like coconut but taste a tiny bit different and yes I do like coconut I live with it. The best part of a dragon fruit is that it comes in different colours like yellow, blue, pink and purple cool right!

A dragon fruit is yummy but it’s not always yummy by itself, using it with different tasty ideas makes it better. If you have any fruit at home you could make a salad or, you can make a dragon fruit smoothie with different kind of fruit and also maybe you can make a dragon fruit cake. So many ideas to choose from!

I love dragon fruit and I’m also happy that it’s a healthy fruit.  It’s so yummy it can maintain your sweet tooth which will let you feel fresh and free sugar. It has a vitamin C so it has 10% daily value so you can, have a strong body and a lot of energy. And what else can I say it’s a fruit it’s healthy for you.

Ending:

A dragon fruit actually has fat in it but, it’s a polyunsaturated fat that means it’s a good fat for you.  This fruit can help you to feel fuller for longer! This fruit also cures diabetes and it helps with blood sugar levels in Taiwan. If you should know when I first looked at a dragon fruit I was like no way I’m gonna eat that! But when I first ate it I loved it and said don’t judge a book by it’s cover. So try a DRAGON FRUIT today. I challenge you to it!

My Fraction DLO Video

So this term I have been learning about fractions in maths.

We were learning how to order the biggest fraction to the smallest fraction.

Master Chef!

Today we have been cooking for our shared lunch. We were put into our writing groups and we had a draw what group was cooking, our group was cooking the salad but most of us was thinking of doing the kebabs.  Doing the salad was pretty fun and easy but what was really frustrating was, that people in our group was yelling a cross the room for help but everything was done quickly and fast. After finishing the salad it was different because we were doing the fruit smoothies when another group the Krakens, was supposed to do it but lucky for us we did it instead. After all the hard work we put in, it was time for the shared lunch to begin. HOORAY! All the food were so yummy there were different kind of bread, crisps, kebabs and the salad. Here are some photos of people cooking and our shared lunch.
