♡Santa Claus Is Coming Town!♡

As you can tell, Christmas is just down the block and we all have our own traditions. I created a google drawing/poster about what my family and I do on Christmas. Christmas is the busiest holiday of the year, but Christmas to me is a important holiday of the year. Christmas is a celebration of Jesus and the day he was born. So here is my poster of what my family and I do on Christmas day. I hope you like it!

EOTC Week Reflection! (:

Today I'll be talking about EOTC week with the year 8's. I only went for one day, but it was really fun to participate in outdoor activities. So, on the 24th of November we went to Omaka Scout Camp with the year 8's and it was so much fun! It was very poor weather when we got their so we couldn't do any water activities. We all got split into groups for different kind of activities.

The first one that my group did was fire building. The group had to collect 3 pieces of dry wood for the fire. Since it was raining, it was difficult to find dry would but eventually we ending up with a huge pile of dry wood. We also got to make a shelter and roast marshmallows in the fire. It was my first time roasting a marshmallow and it was delicious.

The next activity was archery. Their were 3 targets and 3 bows. Our aim was to get a bulls-eye in the target. The bulls-eye was the dot in the centre of the target. I did not get one, but I'm proud of myself for giving it ago anyway.

The 3rd activity was doing slack lining. It's basically a rubber strong band tied between 2 trees and we had to try and walk across it. I was really nervous for this one because, I was thinking to much about falling and hurting myself. Luckily our group was split into 3's so we could have assistance while walking across. My heart went crazy, but when we finished that activity I realised I had a lot of fun and I didn't have a scratch on me.

Our last activity was orienteering. I would say this was my least favourite activity because, it involved maths and breaking a code which is not what I'm really into. Overall, the day was super great and I had so much fun with my friends! I hope one day I can do this again with my family over the holidays!

Musical Theatre, Bugsy Malone - Improvements?♫♫♫

Lately this term, we have been doing Passion Projects. This is to help out on what your passion it is in the future. For passion projects I am doing Musical Theatre. In musical theatre, we are doing Bugsy Malone. This musical is based in the 1920's in New York. For this musical I have a lead role and her name is Tallulah.

Today, we went through the whole number and there were a few mistakes that I made when I was acting out Tallulah. I had to question myself what I was having trouble with. For example, in every scene that Tallulah is in, which entrance does she comes in? Or which exit does she go out?

Here is what I really enjoyed through the number. I enjoyed the finale song of the musical which is where all the characters become friends and we all huddled in together like we we are one big happy family. I really enjoyed doing the slow-mo at the start of the finale song which was so much fun! I also really enjoy being Tallulah because, her character is very sassy, diva-ish and so much fun to be as!

Highlight Of This Year - Voices Of Soul!♥️

Today in class, we got to talk about our favourite memory of this year or what our highlight was this year. We had to explain why that was our favourite memory or highlight. This is where we could share our personal experience this year. Here is my favourite memory of this year!

The highlight for me this year would be Voices Of Soul. Honestly, voices of soul has helped me gain my confidence through my passion of music. One of my favourite memories of being apart of voices of soul was when, we got an opportunity to go to The Voices Festival and perform 2 songs there. Going to the festival helped me make new friends with some of the year 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13's. We were even the best choir through the whole festival! It was such an amazing experience for me and I will never forget it. Voices of soul is like my musical family that I will always cherish. I don't think there would be any other highlight from this year that could top this one!

Definition Of Maori Words!

Today is the last day to finish off the rest of our EOTC week challenges. I have finished 3 and this would be my last challenge. This challenge is more about the heritage, Maori, and to know more about the Marae that the year 8's will be going to next week on Tuesday. For this challenge, we have to define the vocabulary words that are down below, with full sentences. We also got to use a website to help us with this challenge. Here is what I have done and the website I have used to help me.

Waiata:

A waiata is a special song that brings a community or a family together and that can welcome people in the marae.

Powhiri:

A powhiri is a word to welcome people from other schools, other countries or a new family member in the marae. It basically means a welcoming ceremony with dancing, singing and a couple of speech's from important people.

Kaikaranga:

A kairanga is a women that is a caller of a group. The caller of the group is more appropriate for an adult women since they are more sensible for the job.

Rangatahi:

Rangatahi is like a quote which is "Our young people are the leaders for tomorrow". What I think it means is that the kids are the legacy of their marae.

Kaikorero:

A kaikoreo is a male adult that says a speech to the people. This role is more appropriate for a male adult and not for a female adult.

Writing - Tala and I.

Today in writing, 8Bh had to watch a music video called Happier. There were 2 main characters in the music video which was a girl and a golden retriever. We had to write a background story about the video and write like we were the girl or the golden retriever. I thought this task was fun because, we got to be creative and be someone else when writing the background story. I liked this task very much and it was really fun to do! Here is what I have done so far:

Tala and I.

Today, I am having a birthday party and all I can feel right now is anxiety. Kids running around and parents chatting. One of my family members was putting down my cake in front of me. It looked so I delicious I could almost eat it! I was about to blow out my candles, but some other kid blew them out for me. I teared up. Not everyone liked me. My uncle gave me a box with a yellow bow in it, but it didn't seem it was for me. I put the bow on the table. When I looked up, my sadness disappeared and my happiness took over my whole body! My uncle was walking towards me with the most adorable golden retriever in his arms! The golden retriever was in my arms at last. I called her Tala, which means gold. My uncle measured Tala and I was against the wall, so I could remember how tall she was when I first met her.

Many years after, I grew up as a teenager. High school wasn't very easy for me. It was hard to make friends and it was hard to be happy. One day, Rachel and Lani was picking which girl would be on their soccer team.

Letter To Emma - If I Won $50 In The Summer Learning Journey!

Dear, Emma:

My name is Faith. I am a Samoan and I go to Hornby High School (HHS). I love doing blogging and currently 8Ts and 8Bh are starting to do the Summer Learning Journey 2018. I have heard that this could improve other students in their own learning and how it will give them top marks in school. I have also heard that the top 3 best bloggers through the Uru Manuka cluster would get a prize of $50 in the Summer Learning Journey 2018. If I won, I would use that money to help out with my teeth treatment. I am getting braces next year and the cost of it is very expensive. So, I would like to help myself and my parents by spending the money through my treatment. I hope the Summer Learning Journey goes well for all students!

Yours Sincerely, Faith.

The 3 little fairies - Problem.

Today I have been working on my problem of my fairy tale. If you are not sure what this post is about, I suggest you check out the orientation of my fairy tale. Long short story, I had to recreate a fairy tale for my narrative writing. I chose the 3 little pigs. Instead I changed it into the 3 little fairies. So, I did not get to finish off my problem, but I hope you like what I have done so far.

Peace, Clair and Violet hid in their own domes. After an hour, the ground started to shake like an earthquake. They felt a cold breeze entering through their windows of their domes. “3 domes, 1 jackpot”, said Elliot with a very deep voice. To crush each dome, all he had to do was whistle a very dark tune. “Oh little fairy, oh little fairy let me in”, said Elliot “Not by my pixies of my little wing wings”, said Violet. “Then I’ll whistle and I’ll whistle and I’ll crush your dome down!” Elliot whistled a dark tune and the flowers were crushed to the ground. Violet flew and hid into Claire's dome, but it didn’t mean Elliot was finished.

A Moment In Time!

Hello there!

If you have been checking my blog lately, I am doing a year 8 EOTC week bingo challenge. Today I am showing you my 3rd challenge that I have done. In this challenge, I had to write a moment in time where I was challenged to do something. So, I created a DLO by using google drawing to do this challenge. My challenge is about making new friends. To be honest, this challenge is still challenging for me. I hope you like what I have done:

Does blogging help improve my learning?

Lately this week, my class has been working on persuasive writing for a test that will be coming up soon. This week, the class has been practising on persuasive writing before the test. The topic today is, 'Blogging helps improve my learning'. This is what I have written this week:

I have been blogging ever since I was a year 5. I learned so much things in school that I can finally share my learning to the world. Does blogging help me improve my learning? I agree.

I know that blogging helps improve my learning because, I can always get helpful feedback from my class or the teachers. Giving back feedback is helpful because, you can tell other people what you think if you are in a distance away. I can always fix up my work so that other people that is reading my work, can understand what I am working on and what they are learning through the post.

When you are blogging and sharing your work to the world, it is almost like you are a teacher and the world is your class. How cool is that! Blogging is a way to show how much I would of improved at the start of the year till now. I can always look back on my blog and see how much I have improved.

Blogging may not be something you would like to do, but it is definitely something that will take your education to a different and higher level in the future. Blogging definitely helps me improve my learning!

Cybersmart - Narrowing Search Results!

Today, 8Ts and 8Bh has been doing cybersmart in the learning commons. We were working on narrowing search results. We are working on this so we can be safe on the internet and not face the consequences on the internet in the future. I learned about using usage right images off the internet so, in case I don't use someone's personal images without them knowing or asking. This can help with my blogging because, I know what are the right images I can use and put on my blogs without any copy right issues.

Water Safety!

So this is my next activity that I have chosen from my EOTC year 8 bingo challenge. For this activity, I had to read a story about sailing and the water. Then I had to create a poster by using Piktochart, talking about water safety and what to look out for in the water. I had a lot of fun doing this activity and trying out Piktochart again for my learning. I hope you like this poster!

Google Search Challenge!

So in cyber smart I will be doing a Google Search Challenge. First off, I have a question to answer and I will have to answer it with some information off google.

Q - If you stacked $20 dollar bills until you reach $1 million, would the stack be higher than the rim of a basketball hoop?

The height of a rim basketball hoop is 18 inches which is about 46 cm.

The height of a single $20 bill is 0.0043 inches thick.

You will need 500 $20 dollar bills to get to 10,000.

So, 500 x 0.0043 is 2.15 inches.

$1 million dollars in $20 bills is: 2.15 inches thick, 5.461 cm and 56.41 millimetres thick.

Shorter or Taller: Taller

A - Yes, the stack would be higher than the rim of a basketball hoop.

Maths - Pocket Money Chart!

For maths today, we had to work in pairs for an activity. I chose Trisha for this activity. So for this activity, it's about a girl named Shelley and a the start of the year, her parents offer her 2 options for her weekly pocket money. Once she had made up her mind, she must stick with the option she chooses for the next 12 months.

Option 1 ~ You can have $5 every week for a year.

Option 2 ~ Or each week you can roll the money dice and take whatever comes up.

Shelley was waffling on both of the options so, Trisha and I did an experiment to help her pick the right option for the year. Here is our results:

Persuasive Writing.

Cats and Dogs are the most animals that are used for a pet. But are cats really better pets then dogs? I disagree. Dogs are 100% better pets then cats. Why? Let me tell you why!

Dogs are very playful and like to do outside activities with you. Unlike cats, cats are lazy and like to sleep on most sunny days. You may be thinking that having a cat as a pet won't be a fuss at all. Think again! Cats are very bossy and they can get you into a heap of trouble, by scratching all the furniture in the living room. As for dogs, they are very friendly and easy to be around with.

Dogs can be really good pets, especially when you need someone to cheer you up or if you are in need of help. For example, drowning in the pool. You should already know that cats hate getting wet, but dogs care more about their owner then getting wet or cold. Who knew dogs could be like an actual human or a great pet to have!

Speaking of a great pet,

Maths - Probability!

Hello, today I will be sharing with you some maths that I have been doing this week. My group was working on probability in maths. Probability is about the chance of something happening or not happening.

My LO this week was, we can complete a mathematical investigation.

The steps I had to take was commitment, resilience and achievement. I had to commit to my work and give it my all. I had to never give up on myself and have a growth mindset and I had to achieve my work to a year 8 quality standard.

One of the experiments I have done was to draw a chart on my maths book and roll a dice 18 times. Then, I had to write down the number that was on the dice in the chart.

1 - 1
2 - 4
3 - 3
4 - 3
5 - 3
6 - 2
7 - 3
8 - 3
9 - 6
10 - 2
11 - 5
12 - 1
13 - 3
14 - 5
15 - 5
16 - 5
17 - 2
18 - 4

After that, I had to draw a tally chart in my maths book and to complete the tally chart I had to tally up how many times did each number get when it was rolled on the dice. I also had to put down the total of each number.

1 - // - 2
2 - /// - 3
3 - //// / - 6
4 - // - 2
5 - //// - 4
6 - / - 1

The evidence shows that, the most rolled number was 3. The least rolled number was 6. 6 was rolled once. The most rolled number to the least rolled number was: 3, 5, 2, 1, 4, 6.

If I have done the experiment again I probably wouldn't get the same results then I did on this one. Why I think that is because, there are 6 numbers on the dice so whenever you roll it would come up with a random number then the same numbers that it had on this one.

I hope you liked my blog post and I also hope you have learned something today!

Narrative Fairy tale - The Three Little Fairies.

This term in writing we have been focusing on narrative writing. This week, 8Bh is rewriting a fairy tale in there own way. My one is called, The Three Little Fairies. This fairy tale is based on The Three Little Pigs. Here is what I have done so far.

Hello fellow believers, welcome to the magical side of your childhood. Once upon a time,
there were three little fairies named Peace, Claire and Violet. These fairies were all sisters
and they were very special. The three magical fairies all lived in a clock tower in London
with their mother. Once the fairies get older, they would have to move on with their lives in
another place.

The time finally arrived for the three fairies. “Be safe on your journey girls, I will always love you
all from the bottom of my heart”, said the mother. The girls were in tears of joy. They hugged
their mother and left the clock tower. After a long journey, the girls found a beautiful garden. They
landed safely in the garden and rested their wings for the night. After a couple of weeks, the fairies
had their own dome to live in. Violet’s dome was made out of violet flowers. Claire’s dome was
made out of bright green leafs and Peace’s dome was made out of colourful pebble stones.
One day, the girls went around the garden to find some fruit for them to eat. While Peace and
Violet was waiting for Claire, Claire made a rough landing in front of them! “Claire, are you alright?”,
said Violet. “No, we are all in danger! A crusher fairy was following me!”, shouted Claire.
“Shh! He’ll hear you!”, said Peace. A crusher fairy is very dangerous. They crush whatever they can
find which makes them more powerful than ever!

Please keep checking my blog for the rest of my fairy tale!

Mr. Chelsea's Greenhouse - Chapter 4 Reflection!

If you are confused about the title of this post, I am currently reading a chapter book called Mr. Chelsea's Greenhouse. At the moment I just finished chapter 4 and I will be retelling you what happened in chapter 4 in my own words. Long story short, Eva lives next to an old man named Mr. Chelsea. Eva accidentally made a hole through Mr. Chelsea's greenhouse glass roof. Now she is up for the consequences.

Chapter 4, Eva heads to Mr. Chelsea's green house. She walks through his backyard. It was such a beautiful sight to see. She enters the greenhouse. Mr. Chelsea did not seem too mad to see her. He hands over a broom to her and tells her to sweep the glass pieces in the corner of the greenhouse.  Mr. Chelsea starts to talk to her a bit. Then, he asked her to follow him across the greenhouse. They got along just fine. He talked about the rose that was named after Eva's grandfather, Rosa Everingham. Surprisingly, he told her that there is a rose named after her, Rosa Evangelina. After having a good time with Mr. Chelsea and knowing a bit of the history of his roses, Eva headed home for lunch. She told her father everything about her day with Mr. Chelsea. Eva thought differently about Mr. Chelsea and he is the cleverest man shes ever known. The father knew she would like him since the accident.

Hope you liked this blog post! Till the next chapter!

Geometry ~ 3D Shapes!

So for the past few weeks, my group has been learning about Geometry/3D Shapes! The difference between a 3D shape and a 2D shape is that, a 2D shape is flat and a 3D shape is what you can hold. We also learned about vertices, edges and faces. Vertices are the corners of the shape. Edges are what connects the vertices together. Faces are the flat sides. We even learned about the actual name of a 3D shape. What I will be showing you now is a task that I have to do based on 3D shapes. I created a DLO using google drawing about 3D shapes. We had to explain what the shape was, how many edges does it have, how many vertices does it have and how many faces does it have. I hope you like this DLO and I hope you have learned something today!

Reading Plus!

What is Reading Plus you say? Reading Plus is an awesome program that helps each student improve in their reading. This program can improve on your reading, understanding the message of the story and understanding new words that we don't know yet. This can also improve on how slow your reading or how fast your reading. So, you can read the same pace as everyone else in your reading groups in school. Another thing I wanna share with you about Reading Plus is how you can also do this at home and share this program with your parents! This program is a fun and easy way to improve in your reading for the future! I love Reading Plus and I can assure you that you would love it too!

It Is Important To Show Respect!

It Is Important To Show Respect!

Today I will be writing something to you about what my class is focusing on this term. Respect. Giving respect to someone can brighten their day. Respect is important to each and every person around us because, it can always make a positive vibe inside yourself and in the area you are in. Showing respect to a stranger or to anyone you know, doesn't mean you get nothing in return. Happiness is what you get in return! Respect isn't just important to other people it is also important to other area's and even animals. So why don't you start showing respect today? Showing respect to other people is more important then getting any kind of reward because, the kind of reward you will get is happiness.

Science - Parachute Experiment

Last couple of days, 8Bh has been doing an experiment in science that was related to flight. I will be talking about our experiment that was about parachutes. First of all we made mini parachutes in groups of 3. We used strings, a plastic bag, some tape and 3 paper clips to make it. We also had a piece of paper to write down our prediction, how we did it and extra details about the distance we dropped the parachute and how long did it take to reach down to the ground. We tried it outside, but it didn't exactly go well. So, we went to the learning commons, and dropped our parachutes at the top step of the stairs. My groups goal was for our parachute to fall elegantly down to the ground. And it did! I had so much fun doing this experiment, that I want to do it again some time!

Kindness Around Us - Cybersmart.

Today I will be sharing my opinion on an article that I have read about random act of kindness on Instagram. A high school student created a anonymous Instagram account to share kind things/words about the people in his classroom. This went on for about a year until he wanted to come clean to all the people, who wanted to know who was behind all this random act of kindness on Instagram. I am relieved on how nice/kind this student can be and how it could've changed so many peoples lives on how they feel today. I think this is a good way to spread kindness and love to everyone around us. I also think that this article/student can persuade many students and adults to do the same thing. This has made me think more into what I should do to show some random act of kindness to other people. Even the people around us. Could you do the same thing one day?

Reading ~ Mr. Chelsea's Greenhouse!

Today I will be showing you my task about a novel called, Mr. Chelsea's Greenhouse. Mr. Chelsea is someone who loves gardening and roses. He does not have any kids, but he does have his two loving dogs that he loves. My task for this novel was to create a google drawing and create what Mr. Chelsea looks like without using google for help. The novel was helping us create what he looks like by this part of the story: 'He has a fierce look on his face most of the time. His thin lips are set in a straight, determined line. His eyebrows shoot out like white flames above his icy blue eyes.' Here is my google drawing that I have done and I hope you like it! (:

Writing - Respect!

So today, 8Bh had to write at least 8 sentences about one thing they did today to show respect. Today in class, in the middle of the notices, I raised my hand to ask a question. Raising my hand was letting Miss Birtch know that I had something to say. So when she finished talking, I would have a chance to say something instead of interrupting her. Raising your hand up is a good way to show respect for other people. So that everyone can have a turn to say something, instead of loud noises across the classroom. Respect is one of the biggest values in our school. Even doing something small for someone, can give a huge amount of respect to them. Could you do the same thing?

Research DLO! ~ 3 Countries (:

So this week, I had to do a research on 3 countries. To do the research, I was given a piece of paper with some questions on it. I had to answer them by research them on my chrome book. When we were finished, we had to create a DLO with any digital tool. I used Piktochart. I was still getting use to the tool but I got the hang of it. Down below here is my DLO. I hope you learned something today and enjoyed reading it! (:

Reading Benny - Alternative Ending Writing!

Reading - Benny

This blog post will be showing you an alternative ending writing to a story called, Benny.
It was a task and was apart of my reading. But before I even show you the piece of writing,
I will tell you a short version of what the story is all about. It’s about a guy called Benny.
He had only one friend beside him. In the holidays, they would meet up and go to the beach
where they would do something fun or share one ice-cream between each other. There was
a jetty at the beach which is where some trouble started to happen. Apparently there was no
happy ending in this story, but I liked reading it and doing the create and share task that was
assigned for me. I hope you like this piece of writing that I have done!

Alternative Ending Writing.

Then we heard the police sirens. Surprisingly it was getting louder and louder. I looked at Benny
and he shot his eyes right back. We knew one of us was gonna have to confess to the police
officers. All I could think about was that, Benny’s reputation was gonna be ruined. He wouldn’t
be called ‘stupid’ anymore, he would be called ‘the bad kid’ or ‘the bully’.

When the police officers arrived, they got out of the car and jogged down the sand. They looked
furious of what happened. “I’m guessing there is a good explanation for this?” said the police
officer, with a very deep voice. “Yes sir, this was all-” Benny was very confident with his
words, which made me feel even more guilty to let him take all the blame. So obviously I
had to do the right thing! “-My fault!” I said while feeling very nervous. Benny looked at me and
out of nowhere he smiled.

I knew why he smiled and I grinned. He turned in with me at the police station. We both got
grounded for 2 weeks, but it was all worth it! Knowing that I have a friend that will go
down any risky path with me, is what I needed the most in life. Well, the most in a friend. (:

8Bh's Bake Sale Reflection!

Today we had a bake sale to fund raise for poor families that need help and the 24/7 workers as well. This project all started with the SVA (Student Volunteer Army) and we wanted to be apart of the SVA by doing a project that will help our community. So many students in our class participated in this by baking, selling, marketing and more! I thought I should take the job as marketing since I think I'll be excellent at it. We had some ups and downs with the project/planning, but we sorted everything out and raised $140.70! What a profit! I feel so proud of what our class has done and I really hope we get to do another project like this, another day!

Explanation Writing Reflection - Nightmares!

Last week, I have been doing a writing explanation on Nightmares in Writing with
Miss Cotter. I have been improving on my explanation writing every week. Down below
is my explanation writing about Nightmares and my reflection about it. I hope you enjoy it!

Question I am Answering: How Are Nightmares Formed?

Have you ever wondered how a nightmare is formed? It often happens to us when we
go through something that triggers us the most. I guess I’m gonna have to be more
specific about this topic.

Fears.

I do not mean your fear of heights. I mean your fear of penny wise when you see a
random red balloon on the streets. Fears can affect most infants which are caused by
what they see or hear. When your fears finally get into your head, you won’t be able to
get it out of your head by sundown.

Emotion.

We all know our emotions can get pretty intense. When the sun goes down and the
moon starts to rise, you will start to feel scared, sad, stress and even anxious. You will
not be able to sleep with these kind of emotions in your whole body.

The Body.

Once your inside your bed, your body positions will become very uncomfortable.
You’ll start getting sweaty, shaky and itchy. Your nightmares will start appearing and it
will start playing a little scary clip of your fears starring you! This will also make your
body a bit to hot, really weak and even droussy. Now this means that you are stuck in
your nightmares until it is over!

Nightmares are not good for our physical well-being, but this does not mean we are
alone. We have support, parents, caregivers and friends at school. They can help us
to get over our nightmares. And don't forget, asking for help is just one simple job to do! (:

Highlight each point on your checklist as you complete it today.

Reflection Questions

Something I did well:
I used some scientific words.

Something I need to improve:
Pick a topic that will be more challenging than this one.

What I learned from this assignment:
That formal writing isn’t a year 8 quality work.

Comment from my partner:

Good job Faith, I really like your writing about nightmares.I have always wondered
why we have nightmares and your explanation was very informative. The layout of
your writing was set up very well and made your writing make more sense. Maybe
next time you could elaborate more upon how nightmares can seem so vivid in our
minds. Ruby.

Matariki Part 2! (:

Were back again with my reading part 2!

So today I have already finished reading the article about Matariki. I learned new things about the celebration. I never knew how important Matariki was to other families until today. After reading the article, I had another task to do and I'm almost done with it. I had to answer 4 questions by using my knowledge from what I read in the article. Then I had to select 3 te reo words and use it in a sentence. I have not got up to the 3 te reo words, but I hope you like the answers I used in the questions! (:

What is Matariki?

Matariki is a celebration of the ones that past in the recent years and celebrating this new year and the next upcoming years.

Why did Maori observe Matariki?

Matariki is important to us and other families because, it’s about gathering all together for the ones that past away in the recent years.

How did Maori traditionally celebrate Matariki?

They have a small hangi to begin with, then they have a karakia and they finally have a feast to eat.

When and how should Matariki be celebrated?

Matariki should be celebrated with all family and friends. And the date changes every year for Matariki so, this year it was supposed to be celebrated on June the 5th.

I hope you liked part 2 and please keep checking on my blog for part 3! (:

Matariki Part 1 (:

So this week my group will be reading an article about Matariki. Matariki is a celebration that Maori's celebrate every year. Matariki does not have a certain day to celebrate on instead the date changes every year. How about I talk about a couple of things that I know about Matariki!

- I know that there are at least 7 stars that are sisters. There is also a star named Matariki, the mother of those 7 sisters.

- And all of those 7/8 stars have a different job to do every year.

I hope I gave you a simple understanding introduction of my reading. Keep checking my blog for part 2 of my reading, Matariki! (:
